- 07You can wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. During the session, only the area being treated will be exposed, and you’ll be appropriately draped at all times. For women, it's recommended to avoid wearing a sports bra to the appointment, as they can be difficult to remove or adjust. A clipped (back-fastening) bra is preferable, as it can be more easily removed or repositioned when needed for upper back, shoulder, or neck work. You're always welcome to discuss your comfort and preferences before treatment begins.

- 09Sports and deep tissue massage can help manage and relieve a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including: • Back pain • Neck and shoulder tension • Headaches and jaw tension (TMD) • Sciatica and nerve entrapment • Repetitive strain injuries (e.g. Repetitive Strain Injury, tennis elbow) • Plantar fasciitis • IT band syndrome • Tendinopathies • Postural imbalance • Delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) • General muscle stiffness and fatigue While massage does not "cure" underlying structural issues, it can significantly improve symptoms, mobility, and quality of life - particularly when part of a broader rehab or wellness plan.
- 10Yes, there are some situations known as "red flags" where massage is not appropriate. In these cases, treatment will be postponed or declined to ensure your safety. Examples of contraindications include: • Cancer (unless you have written medical clearance from your consultant or GP) • First trimester of pregnancy • Acute bone fractures (massage will not be applied to the injured area) • High fever or acute infection • Contagious skin or systemic diseases • Being under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs We’ll always check for contraindications before treatment. If in doubt, consult your GP.
- 11The Flow Clinic is based in Marylebone, in the basement (underground floor) of The French Pharmacy - a calm and professional space conveniently located and easily accessible by public transport. The clinic is accessed through the pharmacy. Treatment rooms are located downstairs, where you’ll also find a dedicated waiting area. A member of staff at the pharmacy counter will always be available to assist you with directions or guide you to the treatment space. Please note: There is no step-free access. The clinic is only accessible via stairs. If you have any mobility concerns, feel free to contact us ahead of your appointment so we can help or advise accordingly.
- 12At The Flow Clinic, we typically offer sports massage treatments to clients aged 16 and over. For clients under 16 years old, treatment may be possible but only with prior written consent from a parent or legal guardian. In such cases, we also require a guardian to be present during the session to ensure the comfort and safety of younger clients. If you’re considering treatment for a minor, please contact us in advance to discuss suitability and any specific requirements.
